Good morning kids. Well, there are foreign invaders of the illegal alien variety and then there are foreign invaders!

Was there just an attempt to carry out a mass casualty attack at CENTCOM headquarters?

MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida is where the headquarters of CENTCOM, the United States Central Command are located. CENTCOM oversees U.S. military operations in the Middle East, Central Asia, and some areas of South Asia, and that means that it is involved in U.S. actions against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Recently, an improvised explosive device was discovered outside a gate at MacDill; it didn’t go off, but if it had, the damage could have been extensive. Was someone targeting CENTCOM? And if so, who?The more one examines this story, the more questions multiply. . . It all started on March 10, when “a 911 call warned of a bomb near the base’s visitor center. At the time, no device had been located.” Who made the call? No one knew at the time, but it turned out to be Alen Zheng, using a burner phone he bought at Best Buy. He apparently made the call in the hope of terrorizingthe people at MacDill. At the time of the call itself, however, no one at MacDill appeared to be particularly concerned about it, as nothing was found, and the people on the base went about their business. . .Were the Zhengs acting alone, out of some personal animus, or were they agents of the Chinese Communist government? Was this an attempt to disrupt CENTCOM’s operations, or just a couple of leftist nuts acting upon their hatred of the United States? If the People’s Republic was behind it, there are all sorts of reasons to downplay the incident at this time, but will any response be made? Could we at least get that program to bring over 500,000 Chinese nationals canceled?

Heaven forfend, lest we be accused of resurrecting the "Yellow Peril" tropes of the 19th century.

Tom Cotton (R-AR) compared President Ronald Reagan’s characterization of the Soviet Union to the reality of modern-day China, telling Breitbart News that the country is an “evil empire” and calling President Xi Jinping a “Marxist.” . . . China’s infamous Belt and Road Initiative “is just an example of how they’re trying to extend Communist Chinese influence around the world,” Cotton added. 

NB there are several other stories in the links about Chi-Com subversion obviously all interrelated to this one.

Modern China, which aside from the trappings of 21st century technology like Islam has always had a toxic mix of imperialism and xenophbia that drives its ambitions not only to control those within its sphere of influence by keeping foreign ideas and cultures at bay by every means at their disposal, from massive walls to genocide and wars of conquest fought with both armies and by subversion.

If only Truman nuked Beijing the moment the PLA crossed the Yalu River way back when, or let MacArthur Go all the way instead of sacking him. Oh well, here we are 70 odd years later.

The Chinese Communist Party have in many ways far exceeded their Russian Soviet mentors and role models in this regard. Both combined have over the past century degraded our own society to the point where we are forced to endure this kind of insanity:

Over the last few years, we have seen how American universities have been shifting into a rhetoric that not only accepts “Death to America,” but is openly chanting the same slogans of the oppressive regime . . . The question facing universities is not whether professors are allowed to express political views. Academic freedom protects that right. The deeper concern is what happens after students leave the classroom. When narratives promoted by professors begin to mirror the messaging of an authoritarian regime that openly calls for America’s destruction, those ideas do not remain confined to campus debates.

Let's be clear. Academia, the so-called cultural elite, the Left and the Democrat Party are not merely against our attacking Iran. They have been collectively and continually shrieking "Death to America" in both word and deed for nearly 200 years. They hate America, its history, heritage, culture and people as much if not more than the Mullahs.

And speaking of which and shifting gears, as CBD and I discussed on the latest episode of the podcast, linked here and in the sidebar as well as the popular outlets listed below, things are getting muddled in Iran vis a vis what our final objective is or should be.

And as we both have stated and written many many times, US boots on the ground is to say the very least not a good idea, and yet the 82nd Airborne and possibly many more are on their way to the Middle East. Could be kharg Island or perhaps somewhere else as this latest development suggests:

Yemen’s Houthi rebels said Thursday that they are ready to stand with Iran against the US and Israel, threatening to open a new front along the Red Sea that serves as a key global trade route. The Iran-backed terror group said that it would be ready to enter the fight at a moment’s notice following Tehran’s warning that the war could spread to the Bab al-Mandab Strait if the US launches a ground invasion. “We stand fully militarily ready with all options,” a Houthi leader told Reuters, suggesting the rebel group was in direct coordination with Iran.

Yikes.

When reformers try to undo any part of this cabal, those reformers are inevitably smeared, libeled, slandered and threatened. The goal is to prevent them from engaging in that necessary reform by intimidating them into silence.

Speaking of people allowed to commit felonies with impunity: "Big Tish" James.

The director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) has again referred New York Attorney General Letitia James to the U.S. Department of Justice for criminal prosecution, proffering allegations that New York's top cop may have falsified information on her homeowner's insurance application.

In a letter to the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, Jason Quinones, Pulte points to a court exhibit, an application for home insurance submitted to Ft. Lauderdale-based Universal Property Insurance, which appears to show that James claimed her Norfolk, Virginia home would be unoccupied for five months out of the year.

However, James' niece reportedly told the grand jury that she was living rent-free in the home. The niece Nakia Thompson lived there for five years while she was wanted in North Carolina for failing to complete her probation, The New York Post reported.

"[It] appears Ms. James made false representations that her property would be unoccupied five months out of the year," Pulte wrote. "According to the post, this was false. The house was, in fact, occupied year-round by her niece."

In a separate letter to the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, Pulte says that one court document shows that James appears to have claimed to Allstate, which is based in that state, that her Virginia home would only be occupied by one individual, when public reporting indicates her niece lived there with three children.

"[It] appears Ms. James made representations that the house would be occupied by a single adult, with no children. Instead, according to the post, she knew the house was actually occupied by four people - three children and her niece," Pulte wrote to U.S. Attorney Andrew Boutros.

"As such, it appears Ms. James may have defrauded the Illinois-based insurance company. We kindly request you authenticate and investigate this matter, if you deem appropriate," Pulte added.

You may say this is a ticky-tack violation that is really about two parties entering a commercial transaction and that the proper punishment, if any is needed, would consist of the aggrieved party suing the other.

But that's exactly the bullshit that "Big Tish" charged Donald Trump with -- overestimating the value of his properties as collateral in seeking a loan from Deutsche Bank. (Deutsche Bank -- Nazis!)_

And she claimed that that violation was worth, checks notes, a half-billion dollar penalty for "defrauding" Deutsche Bank in a loan that Trump paid back without incident.

Chuck Schumer says he doesn't oppose asking for photo ID at the ballot box, just... proof of citizenship.

Well, our cuck Senators tested his claim out and proposed an amendment requiring photo ID (but no proof of citizenship).

All Democrats voted against it, of course.

Washington -- An amendment that would require voters to show photo identification to cast a ballot failed to advance in the Senate on Thursday, despite Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer saying last week that Democrats were not opposed to such a requirement.

The amendment to the elections bill needed 60 votes to advance. It was defeated in a 53 to 47 vote.

The vote came during the second week of a marathon debate over a controversial elections bill known as the SAVE America Act, which would require proof of citizenship to register to vote and certain forms of photo ID to cast a ballot. The legislation does not have enough support to clear the 60-vote threshold in the upper chamber, but President Trump has dialed up the pressure on Senate Republicans to find a way to force it through.

Schumer condemned the amendment on Thursday before the vote, arguing it would "impose the single strictest voter ID law in America."

"This radical amendment would toss out every single voter ID requirement in all 50 states for federal elections and put in an overly restrictive, one-size-fits-all approach," the New York Democrat said.

GOP Sen. Jon Husted of Ohio offered the amendment, which lists valid forms of photo ID as a driver's license, state-issued identification, passport, military ID or tribal ID.

"The types of IDs that are sitting in wallets right now, that the American people use on a regular basis," Senate Majority Leader John Thune, a South Dakota Republican, said in a floor speech Wednesday.

Ahead of the vote, Husted called the amendment "clean, simple, straightforward," adding that there are "no additional restrictions, no tricks, no games, no prohibition on absentee voting."

Olympics Committee: We Are Reserving Women's Sports For -- and This is a Genuine Twist -- Women

So that means that transgenders would be allowed to compete in... like shooting sports and ice-dancing, maybe?

GENEVA -- Transgender women athletes are now excluded from women's events at the Olympics after the IOC agreed to a new eligibility policy Thursday that aligns with U.S. President Donald Trump's executive order on sports ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Games.

They're all crying about that -- that this policy aligns with the Bad Orange Man's executive order, so, of course, this is a corrupt decision made by cowards who Hate Transwomen and want to Erase Their Existence.

It is unclear how many, if any, transgender women are competing at an Olympic level. No woman who transitioned from being born male competed at the 2024 Paris Summer Games, though weightlifter Laurel Hubbard did at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 without winning a medal.

The eligibility policy that will apply from the L.A. Olympics in July 2028 "protects fairness, safety and integrity in the female category," the IOC said.

"It is not retroactive and does not apply to any grassroots or recreational sports programs," said the IOC; its Olympic Charter states that access to play sport is a human right.

The topic of transgender participation in sports -- from school teams to the world stage -- has been a cultural flashpoint in recent years, though it's unclear how many transgender women currently compete at the Olympic level.

Ah, we went from "it's not happening" to "it's good that it's happening" and now back to "it's not happening" again. They were forced to retreat.

Every nerve in my body is ringing like a guitar string strummed by a Heavy Metal Godling.

Weightlifter Laurel Hubbard made history as the first openly transgender woman to do so in Tokyo in 2021, though no woman who transitioned after being assigned male at birth is known to have participated in an Olympics since.

Nevertheless, controversy ballooned in Paris 2024 when right-wing politicians and commentators called into question the sexes of two female boxers who had been previously disqualified from boxing world championships after failing eligibility tests. One of them was cleared for competition after approval last week, while the other -- who has repeatedly identified herself as a cisgender woman -- is challenging the World Boxing testing requirement in court.

I like how they refuse to say why this person would object to a genetic test. You can tell from implication, but they cannot bring themselves to write it out.

And even though the IOC says its policy does not apply to "grassroots or recreational" sports programs, some experts told NPR they fear it could affect more than just Olympic hopefuls.

"If a woman suspects that she might not pass this screening, she might be deterred from pursuing sport altogether," said Jaime Schultz, a sports historian and professor of kinesiology at Pennsylvania State University. "It doesn't just affect the people that are being tested, but it affects all women athletes."

Yeah but it mostly affects the male "women athletes," wouldn't you say? Not so much the female women athletes.

The 83-Year-Old Veteran Pushed Into the Subway Tracks by an Illegal Alien With a Long Criminal History Has Now Died of His Injuries

You defended our country, but our country refused to defend you.

He wasn't actually hit by a subway -- another man was also pushed into the subway tracks, and he ignored his own pain to get the 83-year-old veteran on to the platform before a train could run them over.

But when an 83-year-old takes a headlong fall into a seven foot trench filled with hard steel tracks, he's probably not going to survive.

This happened in Manhattan -- Soros DA Alvin Bragg's fiefdom.

The 83-year-old US Air Force veteran who was randomly shoved onto the subway tracks by an illegal migrant on the Upper East Side has died from his injuries -- and his alleged killer has been charged with murder.

Grandfather Richard Williams succumbed to his injuries March 17 after he was allegedly pushed onto the tracks with another man while waiting for a train at the Lexington Avenue-63rd Station just before noon March 8, authorities and sources said.

His alleged attacker, Honduran national Bairon Hernandez, 34, was arrested March 10 at a homeless shelter -- and his charges have been upgraded to second-degree murder following Williams' death, court records show.

Second-degree murder in NY is the equivalent of first degree murder in most jurisdictions. They reserve first degree murder for murders of cops and judges and public officials. It's not great, but this isn't the second degree murder you're probably thinking of.

Prosecutors had said Williams was "brain-dead," and Williams' daughter, Debbie Williams, told The Post days after the attack her father was not likely to pull through.

The medical examiner declared his death a homicide.

John Pena, 30, was also shoved onto the tracks by Hernandez but ignored his own injuries and heroically helped pull Williams back onto the platform moments before a train rolled into the station.

Chilling cellphone footage of the attack, apparently shot by Pena from the train tracks, shows the suspect casually strolling along the platform after pushing both men onto the subway bed.

Prosecutors had previously said Williams was left "brain-dead" and his daughter, Debbie Williams, told The Post days after the attack her father was not likely to "wake up."

She declined to comment Thursday on her father's death, which the medical examiner ruled a homicide.

Williams' daughter previously had some choice words for the accused murderer.

"I want him to go to the Venezuela prison, the worst place he could go to," she said. "I want him to suffer for the rest of his life. Prison justice would be appropriate."

Williams, a retired Air Force pilot, had just won a five-year battle with prostate cancer six months ago and had found a new lease on life, she said.

Hernandez is a "serial criminal" with a lengthy rap sheet of at least 15 charges, including aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, and domestic violence, according to the US Department of Homeland Security.

Maybe the two men thrown in front of a subway by a serial criminal illegal alien were just in the "wrong place at the wrong time"?

Regarding the Chicago Alderman who said that Sheridan Gorman was "in the wrong place at the wrong time," minimizing the fact that an illegal alien who actually was in the wrong place -- get the f*** out of my country -- murdered her for nothing.

This Alderwoman claimed Sheridan Gorman "startled" her killer. See, she shouldn't go startling illegal aliens out hunting co-eds. The onus was on her to not startle the illegal alien.

Before the Food-Borne Illness Attack: Iran's Naval chief, in charge of shutting down the Strait of America and harassing ships and killing people for the past decade has himself been
"opened" by Israeli missiles.

The elite Iranian naval commander who authorized the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to ship traffic was killed in an Israeli airstrike along with the service's top intelligence official, the Jewish state's military announced Thursday.

Alireza Tangsiri, leader of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGC-N), was eliminated in an overnight strike on the fleet's home port of Bandar Abbas, Defense Minister Israel Katz said during a morning assessment alongside military officials.

Tangsiri, 64, became the latest high-profile Iranian official to have been rubbed out after the assassinations earlier this month of IRGC spokesperson Ali Mohammad Naini, the regime's de facto leader Ali Larijani, and Gen. Gholamreza Soleimani, commander of the paramilitary Basij forces.

Katz said the strike was meant to send a "message" to the IRGC: "The IDF will hunt you down and eliminate you one by one."

In a separate statement, Adm. Brad Cooper, the leader of US Central Command (CENTCOM), said Tangsiri's death "makes the region safer" and called on members of the IRGC-N to "immediately abandon their post and return home to avoid further risk of unncecessary injury or death."

"Since the commencement of Operation Epic Fury, 92% of the large ships in the Iranian Navy have been eliminated," Cooper noted. "As a result, IRGC-N has completely lost their ability to project power in the Middle East or around the world. Now, with the loss of their long-time leader, the IRGC-N is on an irreversible decline."

The media will be quick to celebrate this, as it only proves that Drumpf! and his Puppet-Master Netanyahu are "getting desperate" and are isolated because they "have no Iranians left to lie to."

In further proof that the Islamic Occupiers of Iran are moving from strength to strength: They're now recruiting child soldiers to man the Basij checkpoints because the adult Basij thugs have either been killed or are refusing to stand at the checkpoints.

So Iran will staff them with 12-year-old Li'l Basij guards, and if we kill them, Iran will claim "The Americans and Jews are murdering innocent children for just manning army checkpoints we are too cowardly to man ourselves."

An official from Iran's Revolutionary Guards said the minimum age for participation in war-related support roles has been lowered to 12, according to remarks aired on state media.

Rahim Nadali, a cultural official with the Guards in Tehran, said an initiative called "For Iran" was recruiting participants to assist with activities such as patrols, checkpoints and logistics.

"Given that the age of those coming forward has dropped and they are asking to take part, we lowered the minimum age to 12," he said, adding that 12- and 13-year-olds could now take part if they wished.

The comments were broadcast as part of state coverage of the war effort.

The move comes despite Iran's commitments under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which prohibits the use of children in military activities.

An illegal trans immigrant admitted Tuesday to molesting a 14-year-old boy inside the bathroom of a Manhattan bodega last year -- but won't have to do any more time behind bars.

Nicol Alexandra Contreras-Suarez, a 31-year-old Colombian immigrant who was born male, pleaded guilty to second-degree rape in Manhattan Supreme Court for sexually assaulting the teen in East Harlem last year and was promised a sentence of just six months -- which has already been served.

That is, he was held in jail pre-trial, and the judge sentenced him to "time served" already -- meaning, he waltzes out of the courtroom, free to rape another child.

That means the creep will be free to go at sentencing on April 27 -- unless federal immigration agents are there to slap on the cuffs again to deport them.

And of course the Soros DA will attempt to hide him from ICE.

The Manhattan District Attorney's Office said the resolution was reached in close consultation with the victim's family, sparing the teenager from having to testify to both the grand jury and over several days at trial.

"We expect the defendant to remain detained and be deported following sentencing, due to the felony conviction," a spokesperson for the DA's Office said in a statement.

We'll see.

So this is one of those Mostly Peaceful illegal aliens who didn't commit any crimes before raping a child.

Well, he committed a whole bunch of "non-violent" crimes, but illegal aliens are allowed to commit those, right?

Suarez, who was already wanted in Massachusetts on robbery, prostitution, and weapons charges, followed the teenager into a bodega across the street from Thomas Jefferson Park on Feb. 11, 2025, and raped him, according to prosecutors.

Robbery is theft by force or coercion -- mugging with a gun, for example --and I imagine the gun charges are related to the robbery.

But non-violent, I'm sure.

The young victim flagged down bystanders after the attack. Suarez was arrested the next day and charged.

Officials at US Immigration and Customs Enforcement later obtained a detainer to take the sex fiend into custody for deportation once the criminal case is done.

"This creep should've never been released into our country," Tricia McLaughlin, then-Department of Homeland Security assistant secretary, said in a statement after the arrest.

That is most likely a tried-and-true method of funding domestic political efforts, and if the usual suspects were investigated, does anyone think that they wouldn't be found to have taken taxpayer money laundered this way? During a press conference on Wednesday, where Johnson unveiled an “Abolish ICE” snowplow, Johnson was asked if he had reconsidered “rescheduling this event” after the death of Gorman. “This is a terrible tragedy, and what I’ve said from the very beginning, I’m going to continue to use every single tool that’s available to me to protect the residents of the city of Chicago,” Johnson said. “This tragedy is not going to deter us from our work. In fact, it’s going to challenge us all to double down on our efforts to ensure that we are protecting every single individual across neighborhoods.” The unveiling of the snowplow with “Abolish ICE” on it came after a “citywide contest to name six new salt trucks,” according to the Chicago Tribune.“Abolish ICE” was “submitted over 9,000 times,” according to the outlet.

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner (D) threatened to prosecute U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents deployed at the airport if they acted inappropriately. . . “I will put you in handcuffs and I will put you in a courtroom, and if necessary, I will put you in a jail cell…” Krasner has a long history of threatening federal immigration agents, comparing them to Nazis and stating that he will “hunt them down.”

In fact, ICE agents are kindly giving stranded passengers bottles of water, helping with their luggage, and performing tasks that free up TSA workers who have just missed their third paycheck — thanks to the Democrats. . . The sole aim of Democrats is to punish Americans for voting Trump into office.

Dems get away with it by shameless lying and then pretending they are paragons of truthfulness.

They smear ICE agents as ­Gestapo, white supremacists, ­Nazis and “secret police” with the objective of turning the American public against them.

Trump’s gambit of placing ICE in airports to ease the pain of travelers is a challenge to the lies, because now people can see the agents are not the monsters they have been painted. . .

Democrat lawmakers like Jamie Raskin and Adam Schiff and their slavish legal minions use their ­silver tongues to tell the most corrosive lies and cover up Democrat crimes.

Whether it’s falsely accusing Trump of being a Russian agent and “inciting an insurrection,” or lying that Joe Biden was innocent despite slam-dunk evidence he was up to his neck in his family’s lucrative foreign-influence peddling, or pretending “the border is closed” and that the botched Afghanistan withdrawal was a “success,” or claiming that defunding the police will make communities safer — they always find a way to excuse the inexcusable, and flip the script. . . Then there are the little cheating, self-aggrandizing lies that Dems like Elizabeth “Pocahontas” Warren and Tim “Stolen Valor” Walz and Joe “Corn Pop” Biden indulge in.

Sheridan Gorman was walking with friends on the Chicago lake shore where Pritzker once filmed a video extolling the safety of his crime-ridden sanctuary city.
Hadden said Gorman and friends “might have unintentionally startled” a masked gun-toting Jose Medina-Medina into allegedly jumping out of the bushes and shooting Gorman in the back as she ran from him.
Don’t blame us!
Hadden later apologized but her point was clear.
Don’t blame the Democrats for sanctuary city policies.
It’s your own fault if you get killed.

I have to disagree with the estimable Miranda Devine's assertion that "They don’t necessarily kill anyone" - - abortion alone has snuffed out thousands of lives. The grisly former abattoir of Kermit Gosnell all by itself butchered scores of infants, many actually born alive on his table. Tragically he's just one example.

"It cannot be stated often and loudly enough. Disaster! Warner Bros. Hires New Writer for Lord of the Rings Mid-quel: Steven Colbert

Good heavens, what an absolute disaster.

We have the Hunt for Gollum coming up, directed by Andy Serkis, who just remade Animal Farm as a pro-socialism, anti-capitalism message movie.

And now Warner Bros. has hired this absolute assclown to write a draft of what is being called "The Shadow of the Past." The concept of the movie is not terrible: A good part of Fellowship of the Ring was cut out of the Lord of the Rings movies because of time restrictions and also because it contains the character Tom Bombadil, who is just a big ball of plot questions. Like, given that he has godlike power that makes even Gandalf and Elrond envious, why doesn't he just take the ring? (Tolkien's lame answer: Because he's flighty and would eventually just forget about the ring and let it go back to Sauron.)

The reason this section of the book is worth possibly making a movie about is the creepy, scary encounter with the Barrow Wrights. If you know, you know.

So Colbert, I guess, pitched the idea of doing these four chapters of LOTR as a stand-alone mid-quel movie.

Couldn't they just have said "Yes that's an okay idea, here's $20,000 as a finder's fee, now fuck off"?

Instead, they've given this poisonous troll the job of writing the movie.

It's what I call "strip-mining the IP." New Line Cinema purchased the rights to The Lord of the Rings almost 30 years ago, and did them such glorious justice with the original movie trilogy. Inevitably, Jackson and New Line set about extracting every last bit of wealth until the original property looked like the Shire after the Scouring.

What's it called when the greedy mining company takes the tailings from its strip mine and runs them through the smelter one more time with all the reckless abandon of Gollum diving after the One Ring into Mount Doom?

Ah, yes -- it's called The Lord of the Rings: Shadows of the Past, and lame-duck late-night host Stephen Colbert will co-write it with his son, screenwriter Peter McGee, for Jackson and Warner Bros, which now owns New Line. Variety reported late Tuesday that Colbert, "a vocal Tolkien fanatic," and McGee will write a screenplay "from chapters of The Fellowship of the Ring that didn't make it into Jackson's 2001 adaptation."

Here's this absolute piece of shit gloating that he conned his way into the gig.

I for one will not be seeing it, even when additional writers are hired to rewrite Colbert's shoddy script -- and again, I think the basic idea of doing these four overlooked chapters is a decent one.

Actually, it's half a decent idea: You can't do a whole movie about a single encounter with the forces of darkness, and one that is resolved without violence just because Tom Bomdadil sings. Yes, he's so powerful that his songs drive off the undead creatures stirred to unlife by the Witch King.*

That's not a movie. That's a long Tales from the Crypt episode.

They could instead do a two-part movie called, get this, "Lost Tales" (another Tolkien title), and do both the Barrow Downs encounter and the much-demanded "Scouring of the Shire" battle omitted from LOTR. Neither of these segments is long enough for its own movie, but packaged as a double feature, sure, why not.

But I don't care either way, because I will not support Steven Colbert nor anyone who wishes to inflict this hateful prog Gollum on me.

If anyone is doing the Hobbit/LOTR challenge with me -- starting the books today, "Tolkien Reading Day," so-called because the ring was destroyed on March 25th -- I will get in at least a couple of easy-breezy chapters of The Hobbit. I would read more, but I have to finish a Miss Marple novel, The Caribbean Mystery, and I have about 70 pages left of that. So I'll only be able to get a little bit into The Hobbit. (Don't worry, Agatha Christie is fast reading. It's no Hound of the Baskervilles.)

I think I'm going to do a post about The Hobbit for Friday -- did you know the book was partially rewritten and Tolkien did a major in-universe retcon of it to make it fit with LOTR?

Here's some better news in genre entertainment: The egregious woke Gay Klingon In a Skirt nightmare (and I'm not kidding about that detail) Starfleet: Chocolate Starfish Academy has been cancelled.

The show will end after season 2, and if you're wondering "Why give them a season 2?" -- it's their new way of doing things. Rather than commit to a 20 episode season, they now say we're committing two "two seasons of 10 episodes each," which is really just one season split into two release windows. So "season 2" -- really season 1b-- was already contracted for and paid for and I think they're even already shooting it.

But after that -- donezo.

Elon Musk is demanding a Delaware judge step aside from a high-stakes Tesla case after she allegedly "supported" a LinkedIn post mocking a $2 billion verdict against him in a separate California case.

Lawyers for Musk and Tesla filed a motion in Delaware's Court of Chancery seeking the recusal of Chancellor Kathaleen St. J. McCormick from overseeing consolidated shareholder lawsuits, arguing her conduct "create[s] a perception of bias" that taints the proceedings.

The explosive filing centers on activity tied to McCormick's LinkedIn account following a federal jury verdict in California that found Musk liable over tweets he posted in 2022 about his $44 billion Twitter deal.

The complaint includes a screenshot of a LinkedIn post by Harry Plotkin, a Southern California-based jury consultant who worked with the legal team that sued Musk for securities fraud in San Francisco federal court.

"Sorry, Elon. Sorry, Quinn Emanuel," Plotkin wrote, referring to Musk and the law firm that represented him.

"Thanks $2 billion for your help in this trial. It was a pleasure working against you. Congratulations to the trial team at Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, LLP and Bottini Law for standing up for the little guy against the richest man in the world."

The filing alleges the post was promoted by McCormick's account, with a banner above it reading: "Katie McCormick supports this."

McCormick has denied intentionally endorsing the post, claiming she was unaware of the interaction until LinkedIn notified her she had used the heart-in-hand "support" icon, according to the Financial Times.

"I either did not click the 'support' icon at all, or I did so accidentally. I do not believe that I did it accidentally," she wrote in a letter to attorneys.

As alleged in the filing, LinkedIn's "Support" reaction -- shown as a heart cradled in an outstretched hand -- requires a deliberate selection from multiple options and is generally interpreted as a stronger endorsement than a standard "Like," which is the platform's default, one-click response.

A separate LinkedIn post criticizing Musk also drew engagement from the judge's chambers, with a staff account "liking" a message saying "so many people who should be so deeply ashamed of themselves seem incapable of being so," according to the filing.

In the filing, Musk's lawyers argue the LinkedIn activity strikes at the core of judicial impartiality, writing that the posts "are not simply negative criticism" but "inflammatory," mocking Musk and his attorneys while celebrating a multibillion-dollar verdict against them.

They refuse to recuse themselves even when their is blazing evidence of bias precisely because they are biased and emotionally invested in the outcome of the trials they rig.

DHS funding deal is falling apart.

Senate GOP offered to fund all of DHS, except ICE's deportation wing (ERO).

Dems just countered and demanded additional concessions, they want major ICE reforms (unmasking, judicial warrants, etc).

GOP says why would we agree to reforms for an agency being defunded?

Dems had an offer on the table to carve out ICE's removal operations, and fund everything else within DHS, and they are saying no.

They are demanding ICE reforms for an agency they aren't going to fund.

GOP saying no.

And the shutdown continues - now on day 40.

If you want to know why we can't just end the filibuster -- say hello to Utah Senator John Curtis, who is taking Adam Schiff's position on deportations, surprising the CNBC host who said he expected he'd be arguing with Schiff, not the Republican.

Curtis says the following:

1, We need "compassion" in handling illegal alien criminals

2, We need to grant amnesty for anyone who "merely" violated our immigration laws for 20 years (and he seems to think that identity theft should be considered an "oopsie" as well)

3, We never settled on what the punishment for illegal immigration is -- yes we did, it's deportation plus jail time for additional infractions, as Black Conservative Perspective points out -- so it's unfair to punish any of the illegals for committing crimes.

He refuses again and again to endorse deportations of any kind. He just keeps avoiding the question by talking about "compassion."

Your GOPe, everyone. Still in charge, somehow.
